Friends United
A strange title for a web page but one which summarises what Nolan uPVC is all about. As a business we have a duty to everyone involved in our business. That means not just the owners, but the workers, local community, suppliers and customers who are the lifeblood of our truly local firm.
It is through this approach that we have made good friendships that have widespread benefits. Partnerships founded on trust and mutual support.
Wales Millennium Centre
Our exclusive sponsorship of daily guided tours at Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) since spring 2006 is groundbreaking for a family run, independent double glazing company. With the strapline 'providing a window on Wales Millennium Centre', they reveal every nook and cranny both front and backstage and attract over 24,000 visitors a year.
In sharing the same brand values of creativity, innovation and Welsh quality, our financial support to this landmark facility means the tours can be delivered up to three times a day. Such partnering enables us to treat our staff and customers to performances of big name shows in addition to discounts and free guided tours. Equally, Nolan uPVC has earned recognition as WMC Partners alongside national and international names HSBC, Tesco and Legal & General.
Theatre
Nolan uPVC's passion for the performing arts continues with the company's membership of Arts & Business Cymru, the Welsh arm of a non-profit organisation that aspires to be the world's most successful and widespread creative network. It helps business people support the arts and the arts inspire business people, because it believes good business and great art together create a richer society.
A&B Professional Development Activities include MD Nolan Nicholas's personal mentoring of Jane Philips of the Mission Gallery in Swansea. In addition, in Feb 2007 Nolan uPVC sponsored the Art @ The Senedd event featuring the Llanelli Youth Theatre which gave teenagers the opportunity to perform a play at the Welsh Assembly building in Cardiff Bay.
Sport
From traditional Welsh harness racing to football and rugby, Nolan uPVC is an avid follower of sport with a number of sponsorship initiatives under our belt. New for 2007 is our high profile sponsorship of the Cardiff Blues rugby club which will bring benefits to staff and customers whilst raising awareness of our expansive two storey uPVC design studio on Richmond Road, Cardiff.
Welsh Speaking Community
As over 90% of our 100-strong workforce is Welsh speaking, we continually support Welsh initiatives including the Eisteddfod and the Urdd and consistently advertise on S4C and in the newspaper, Dynesydd. This year we were one of the principal sponsors of the Urdd festival in Carmarthen.
Charities
Nolan uPVC is also a supporter of several Welsh charities including the Noah's Ark Appeal and Ty Hafan, the Children's Hospice in Wales having raised 1000s of pounds for them over the years. Sponsorship initiatives include zip glides, auctions and celebrity quiz nights with the third annual Nolan uPVC-sponsored Butterfly Ball in Carmarthen raising a princely £4k for Ty Hafan in one night alone. |
