Modern double glazed windows, doors, and conservatories can all last for decades while providing comfort and warmth for the entirety of their lifespan. A well-manufactured and fitted double glazed window can remain for 15 to 20 years before the need to replace them ever needs to be considered.

Nolan uPVC offers industry-leading double and triple glazing with all our uPVC windows and doors. Thanks to double glazing’s ability to prevent natural heat from escaping homes and being wasted, it is incredible at raising the efficiency of a property. Homeowners can rely less on their central heating systems and fireplaces throughout the years, potentially saving on their energy bills for decades after the initial installation of the double glazed products.

The energy-saving capabilities of double glazing make it a worthwhile long-term investment for homeowners looking to make their homes more comfortable and efficient while also raising the value of their property.

Durable & secure glazing with Nolan uPVC

Nolan uPVC manufactures and installs windows and doors crafted using high-quality, modern materials such as uPVC and aluminium. All of which can be outfitted with double or even triple glazing, depending on your budget and energy efficiency needs.

Aluminium and uPVC are robust materials that can withstand heavy impacts or forceful blows without warping or cracking. When combined with our tight seals and innovative trickle vent systems, your double glazing can remain safe and efficient for decades with only minimal upkeep! All it takes to keep your windows and doors looking almost as good as the day they were installed is a wet sponge or cloth to wipe away any build-up dirt or rain marks.

Additionally, aluminium and uPVC make fantastic frames to keep double glazing safe and long-lasting, thanks to their easy replacement or repairability. Plus, they’re both easily recyclable materials, which can further reduce the carbon footprints of our Wales and South Wales customers. Unlike timber frames which can splinter or fade, our modern materials don’t ever need to be sanded or repainted so everything about your installations is likely to remain good as new without any maintenance for the homeowner!

Which lasts longer, double or triple glazing?

Both double and triple glazing has an average lifespan of 20 years. Triple glazing comes with the added benefit of up to 40% increased thermal efficiency compared to double glazing. Plus, triple glazing tends to be much thicker than double glazing, which means that both the frames and hinges must be made stronger to compensate for the increased weight. This can have the added benefit of increasing the durability of the glazing, as the frames and hinges being made stronger can protect the glass better. However, as there are two gaps set between three panes of glass, there is a slightly increased likelihood for condensation to emerge towards the end of the glazings lifespan.
